Manchester-based SeeChange Technologies, a company specializing in retail-focused visual AI, has announced the successful completion of its Series A funding round, raising £8 million. The round was led by TriplePoint, with participation from new investors Runa Capital and True Capital, and original investor Crane Venture Partners.

SeeChange Technologies’ Visual AI platform, SeeWare, enhances self-checkout, preempts stockouts, improves safety, and reduces loss. SeeWare processes video from retailers’ existing hardware and is easily deployed and scaled across the retail enterprise. It has been piloted and commercially trialed by leading retail customers and partners, including Diebold Nixdorf, a retail technology platform provider.

The funding will be used to expand commercial deployment and strengthen SeeChange Technologies’ commercial and support teams. The company is on a mission to help humanity thrive through visual AI technology.
